Tjoe is a Hong Kong-based guitarist who has been gaining attention in recent years for his intricate sound design and urban-experimental style, blending jazz, neo-soul, groove, and contemporary city sounds. He is the first Hong Kong musician to perform on the renowned NPR Tiny Desk Concerts and is also the go-to guitarist for British singer-songwriter Elmiene, having played with her on prestigious stages such as London's Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. Tjoe has also participated in the Montreux Jazz Festival Spotlight Session with CHERISE, showcasing his internationally acclaimed talent and vision. For this performance, Tjoe will be joined by Hagiwara Yhu on saxophone, Justin Siu on bass, and Jerry Kan on drums for an evening of captivating, nuanced, and contemporary music.
